Net Carbs Calculator

Subtract fibre and sugar alcohols from total carbs to get the figure that matters on low-carb and keto plans.

What is Net Carbs?

Net carbs are the carbohydrates that have a meaningful impact on your blood sugar. Most fibre passes through undigested, and many sugar alcohols (erythritol, xylitol) absorb minimally. Subtracting them from the total gives the carbohydrate count that drives glycaemic response.

How is it calculated?

Net Carbs = Total Carbs − Fibre − Sugar Alcohols. For maltitol the rule loosens — only subtract about half because maltitol still raises blood sugar measurably.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I count net carbs or total carbs?
On strict keto, many practitioners count total. For general low-carb, net is fine.
Are sugar alcohols truly free?
Erythritol almost always; others vary by gut tolerance.
Where do I find fibre on labels?
Listed under "Total Carbohydrates" on most packages.
